Festival event planners are a rare breed of people. They’re highly adaptable and are equally comfortable at supervising big crowds or managing one-on-one dynamics. Held at the Joubert-Tradauw wine farm just outside Barrydale in the Klein Karoo, Unplugged62 is more of the latter ilk: A boutique music festival that offers festival goers an intimate, bespoke music experience. It’s fancy kind of festival, that has a VIP vibe, but where everyone is welcome.
The festival team sees to it that attendees, young and old, have an array of weekend activities and options to choose from: there’ll be wine tasting, a trail for a run/walk/cycle, good cuisine, and of course, great live music. The Unplugged62 venue offers a campsite, and if pitching your own tent isn’t your thing, you can always book one of the pre-pitched glamping tents that are set amongst the pear trees – ‘coz comfort and luxury is also how we rock ‘n roll. But if you really, really can’t face any kind of camping, we can hook you up with loads of guesthouses that are located nearby.
This slickly-run, uber-cool, lifestyle-and-music festival is one you don’t want to miss. Oh, and bring your kids. They’re also welcome.
