When our client asked us to coordinate 8 different activations for the same group of guests, we really had to think out of the box in terms of keeping our offering fresh.
Tasked with managing eight different activations for 150 of a Financial institution’s top management, we decided to make use of some of Cape Town’s most iconic venues.
Dovetailing with exclusive luncheon and dinner events held at the Cape Grace hotel, Harbour House V&A, The Table Bay Hotel, Babylonstoren, Ellerman House and Sevruga, we decided to commandeer The Grand Africa Café and Beach restaurant for the final soirée.
The Grand Africa Café and Beach is one of Cape Town’s most sought-after destination restaurants. Located right on the beach at Granger Bay, with waves lapping gently against the shore, it is an eclectic mix of elegant sophistication and laid-back beach party vibe.
Given the fabulous existing décor and natural setting, we built on the coastal theme and added some of our own beachy flair. We opted for classic, with a modern twist, and draped the tables with navy blue and white Jean Paul Gaultier-style striped tablecloths that created a vintage beach hut look-and-feel.
Oversized blue and white damask sofas – that don’t just look good, they’re sublimely comfortable too – offered diners a pause space for sipping cocktails.
Crisp white leather sofas were scattered with nautical striped cushions, and to lift the scheme we added pops of turquoise detailing to the table settings. Wicker and shell lamp shades were the finishing touch.
You would think that the best part of the event was the event, but maybe the best part is the incredible relationship of trust we have with our client. They entrusted us with the whole shebang and knew that we’d come to the party, so to speak. How lucky are we to have such cool clients?
