Celebrating the scatter cushion

In a recent interview with the Property magazine (April 2011) for their “HOT DESIGN” page, I was asked what my favorite event decor trend for 2011 was.

I’m not one for following trends. I prefer designing the events decor with the clients needs in mind. I love eclectic decor…decor with lots of personality…pulling inspiration from various elements such as fabrics, florals or decorative objects, for instance.

So, today I though I’ll share one of my big passions with you…I sometimes even describe it as a fetish…the all important scatter cushion.

My choices of scatter cushions for “My farm in Africa” is an organic combination of large Clinton Friedman prints…Peta-Lee’s merino wool & linen…and to remember grandma, mohair embroidery…the perfect look for a chill area at a BBQ or alfresco lunch.

These “Opulent” scatter cushions are a collaboration of embroidered silk…printed wool…woven velvet…viscose & silk combinations in rich silver & teal…fabulous for a lounge are at an elegant gala dinner.

Lots & lots of “Candy” colors…these scatter cushions are such fun. Suede, cotton, wool & linen…loud patterns (with lots of personality) in watermelon, lime, cotton candy, etc… the perfect accessory for that special birthday.

To all those cushion lovers out there (I know I’m not alone)…be inspired & have lots of fun!!!!

Till later…
